Travel grants

The travel grant winners have been notified on February 10. Due to the outstanding quality of the abstracts, we are happy to announce that we have awarded twelve instead of seven travel grants.


As part of our mission to support junior researchers in the placebo field, 7 travel grants of €300 each are made available for those who submit an abstract for poster or oral presentation. Junior researchers from around the world are invited to apply for funding, by indicating the relevant box in the abstract submission form.

Application for a travel grant was possible until the abstract submission deadline on December 1, 2016. In February 2017 applicants are notified about travel grant awarding.

The criteria for travel grants are the following:

  1. Applicants must have a junior status, specifically Bachelor, Master, and PhD students, as well as post-doctoral researchers who obtained their doctorate in the 3 years preceding the conference can apply. Junior status must be as confirmed by a proof of enrollment or completion of PhD (sent to A valid proof of enrollment would be a signed letter from your supervisor or institute, stating the name of the institute at which you are enrolled, the name and e-mail address of your supervisor, and status of studentship (bachelor, master, PhD, or other).
  2. Funding will be a fixed amount of €300 per applicant. No other costs will be covered.
  3. Applicants must complete the entire abstract submission application process to be considered for travel grant application.
  4. Funding will be given to the best abstract submissions as judged by a scientific committee.
